The Grand Total, 2008

I'm in a regular poker game. The guys in the poker crew are heavy hitters, and this is the record of how I've done.

7 March 2008: I was getting crushed. Then I was a little bit ahead. Then back to the crushing. Then a slight comeback at the end. I did lose a little bit for the night , but it could have been worse. Much, much worse.

29 February 2008: I was down nearly $100 in the first hour, but then my cards started holding up. I did only make a little bit. Three-game winning streak, though, so that's something.

22 February 2008: I played much better this week, though I did drop $38 when my kings ran into aces. Such is life.

15 & 17 February 2008: Oops, again. Somehow, my game's come completely unglued. I did manage to win on Sunday, $9.50, but I really couldn't explain how.

8 February 2008: Oops. Tonight was probably the worst that I've played in quite a long time. I lost the last $100 in about an hour. Not pleasant.

1 February 2008: About a third of tonight's total came when we were three-handed, in a real throat-cutter of a half hour.

25 January 2008: I closed out the month with my best game since mid-July of 2007.

18 January 2008: I made a quarter last week, which was embarrassing, but I held my losing streak to one game, so I'll take it. I won again this week, but I'm still running a deficit for the year.

4 January 2008: So I'm off to a fabulous start in 2008. I'd been on a nine-game winning streak, a personal record, and I hadn't lost anywhere close to what I lost this Friday since 5 October 2007. Lovely.
